When you have isolated cracks in a drain or sewer pipe which doesn’t require relining the whole drain, we use a patch lining for that isolated section of pipe. This provides the pipe structure with more support and seals the crack.
For information about relining a whole badly damaged drain see our drain relining repairs page.
We are registered contractors for the installation of Renoline liners and patches. Using a liner saves the costly process of excavating the drain to replace a cracked or broken section. The patch or relining repair can be performed remotely using CCTV to accurately place the patch or liner in the section of pipe that needs repair.
This may depend on the type of liner used. Generally, the liner (patch) is made up of a resin that is tubular in shape. A high-pressure air balloon is placed inside and inflated until the liner is in contact with and takes the exact profile of the pipe. Some liners have to be heated to initiate the resin binding process. The process is fast and once the binding process is complete the liner becomes rigid, moulded exactly to the original pipe structure.
